From the Archives

This shot of Stevie McCann blasting a mini-ramp is from 2004 or so. It’s a simple photo — no elaborate lighting setup, just natural light and some Kodak TMax 400 shot through a Bronica medium format camera. It breaks a few rules, including cutting off the subject, and that’s why I like it. The rider bleeds off, the ramp bleeds off the opposing corner. I like it. Who makes the rules anyway? This shot ran as a two page spread in BMX Plus Magazine that year.
