The Internet
has a lot in common
with a public
restroom:
There's a lot of what is essentially writing on the walls,
and a whole lot of shit. Some restrooms are a whole lot
cleaner than others. Some sites are cleaner than others. In
some cities you have to pay to use a public restroom. Most
of us have to pay for our Internet access.
The Internet reflects the
culture which created it. Aesthetically the Internet is no
more pleasing than a trip through urban America.
Technoligical advancements create frustration in our fast
paced lives, as there is a never ending need for faster
downloads.

The Internet is nothing shy
of a visual disaster. Most public restrooms are more
visually intriguing than the bulk of what is on the Internet
today. The availability of computer software has made
everyone an artist, or has it? The old rule of "form follows
function" has been thrown out the window. The hot new HTML
trick has overshadowed the informative nature of what used
to be refered to as the "Information
Superhighway."
This site is an experiment.
Like much of what is on the Internet, there is no real
purpose. The images on this site are part of a book which
may or may not be done in the summer of 2001. This is phase
one of jaredsouney.com.
